Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women 

All Women in the Parish are invited to participate in all ACCW activities.

Mission: The Mission of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (ACCW) is to provide a medium of support to enable and educate all Catholic Women of the Archdiocese of Mobile in matters of spiritual development, leadership, and service to the Church, families, and society in the modern world, with Gospel values, Church teachings, and Tradition.

Goal: Our goal is to make a significant difference in the lives of Catholic Women, particularly to respond actively and vocally to the needs of the Church, their families, and society in the modern world with Gospel values, Church teachings and Tradition.

Objectives: To serve as the medium through which Catholic Women and member organizations may speak and act as a unit on matters of public interest consistent with its mission statement and goals.

To stimulate the work of existing organizations of Catholic Women, organization's members, and Associate members for greater efficiency and practicality to meet the needs of the Church, families and society.

To assist all local Catholic Women's organizations and Associate Members in their efforts to give leadership and service in their respective fields and talents.

To represent Catholic Women in work with other approved civic and social agencies in the endeavor to create interest in and to aid in the solution of present day religious, civic, social and educational problems.

To further spiritual and material undertakings which may be recommended to the Archdiocesan Council by the Archbishop or his delegates with his approval.

To supervise and conduct its works and apostolates, as provided in the "Members' Handbook," and such commissions, conferences, committees, and activities, with particular emphasis on spiritual development and vocations, including, but not limited to, the Priest Burse committee Burse Fund, Mary's Day, Days of Recollection, and other apostolates, and as may be necessary for its mission.

Membership:   Open to all Catholic Women in the Archdiocese of Mobile in good standing with the Church.

Activities: The ACCW oversees the annual BURSE drive each year, and maintains its drive records for the Diocese.  This apostolate works in offering financial and spiritual support of those young men who are preparing for the priesthood through seminary studies. ACCW encompasses the Mobile, Baldwin-Escambia,Montgomery, and Dothan Deaneries.  Quarterly meetings are held in each Deanery.  Once a year, in the fall, all deaneries come together for an annual convention.  The purpose is to hold our annual Business meeting, allow time for retreat and fellowship, and to present our Archbishop the BURSE check from our fundraising efforts that current year.  Additional funds for our seminarians are donated from the selling of spiritual intention cards.
