Liturgical Ministry

Alter Servers

An altar server is a lay assistant to a member of the clergy during a Christian religious service. An altar server attends to supporting tasks at the altar such as fetching and carrying, ringing the altar bell and so on.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Volunteers for this ministry assist the Presider in the distribution of the Eucharist and Precious Blood at all parish liturgies. Special training sessions are provided when the need arises. With the large number of ministers needed at some Masses, we encourage you to become one of our special servers at the Lord’s table.

Ushers

Ushers and Greeters are Ministers of Hospitality and include men, women and young adults who assist at Mass and other services. They greet parishioners in the vestibule, assist in seating the congregation, take up the collection, prepare the Gifts for offertory, assure an orderly communion procession, respond to special needs of parishioners, straighten up after Mass, assist new parishioners who wish to register in the parish, and provide hospitality.

Lectors

Volunteers for this ministry proclaim the Word of God at our weekly and daily liturgies and at other various special prayer services during the year.
