The Archdiocese of Mobile has released updated Covid-19 guidance.
Effective Saturday May 29th, 2021, all Covid-19 Archdiocesan regulations will be discontinued. The dispensation from obligation to attend Mass on Sunday will also end Saturday May 29th.
Attendance at Mass is where God gives us the priceless gifts of Himself in Word and in the Eucharist.
Anyone who is unable to physically come to church, or whose health would be endangered by attendance at Mass, or anyone caring for someone whose health would be endangered, does not need to attend Mass.
We have been told by the CDC to 'trust the science'! The 'science' now states that those who are fully vaccinated are not at risk of death or hospitalization due to Covid exposure. Lack of exposure to God, His Church, and His Sacraments does expose you tot he danger of risk of eternal death, though. Do your best to abide in His love.
Until May 29th, we will comply with the request that Liturgical Ministers wear masks, half of the the pews in the church will accomodate social distancing, and the wearing of masks and use of hand sanitizers will be encouraged.
However, per current CDC guidelines, anyone who is fully vaccinated can again participate in all activities, whether indoor or outdoor, without wearing a mask or social distancing.
We will maintain the exception to that guidance at our 9:30am Sunday Mass.
Everyone at the 9:30am Sunday Mass must continue to mask during Mass. Many faithful parishioners with compromised immune systems rely on the extra precautions we have been taking at the 9:30am Sunday Mass. They have been, literally, putting their lives at risk to attend Mass. Please be sensitive to their needs. Mask when attending the 9:30am Sunday Mass.
Thank you for your sensitivity and concern for each other. We have been extremely fortunate that NO cases of Covid can be tracked to any activity at Holy Spirit Parish.

As we continue to seek ways to establish a new normal, consider using a personal missalette for both liturgical and personal prayer. Missalettes are removed from our pew which limits parishioners from participating in the liturgy. We encourage you to adopt the habit of using a personal missalette for both liturgy and personal prayer.
We recommend Magnificat and The Word Among Us. Both are monthly publications designed for daily use. It can be used to follow the Mass and assist in personal prayer. Choose the edition which is best for you.
The Generation of Faith - Endowing Our Future with Hope campaign aims to raise funds to strengthen the Church and fund endowments that will support seminarian formation, priest retirement, and youth ministry at the local parish level. For more information or to make a pledge, Click Here.
